Screen can't be reclaimed - Impossible to remove the emulsion

emulsion, enduction, monochrome, reclaiming, screen-printing, sp_usage, usage

▶  Description of the problem

You can't remove the emulsion from your screen to be able to reuse it.

▶  Possible origins

Two possible reasons:

  • You forgot to humidify the screen before applying your emulsion remover.
    • Your water jet hasn't got enough pressure.

      ▶  Solution

      1. It is crucial to humidify your screen before applying your emulsion remover. If you don't, the emulsion remover will dry on your screen and it will have the opposite effect: fixing the emulsion even more.

Only one solution if this happened: a high pressure washer and a good amount of patience, reclaiming your screen bit by bit.

      2. If however you did humidify your screen and left the emulsion remover to act for at least a minute on both side, but you can't reclaim the screen, it probably means you need to access a higher pressure water jet.

Some emulsion can be hard to remove, or your coating was a bit thick... In any case, more pressure and some patience will get this emulsion out of the frame.
