1. Description of the problem

You can see a faded version of your stencil on the screen but it can't let ink pass through.

2. Possible origins

Your screen is clearly overexposed. There are several possible reasons for that

  • you didn't respect the exposure timing and your emulsion is overcooked.
    • you didn't respect the exposure unit distance and your emulsion is overcooked.
      • your transparent film wasn't pressed enough against your screen and light went underneath it.
        • your screen was exposed to light while drying.

          3. Solution

          First, make sure your transparent film is well pressed on your screen by using a Plexiglas plank or transparent scotch.Then, verify the distance of your exposure unit to your screen. With our kit, it should be around 60 cm.Last, make sure to follow the timing instruction precisely. Emulsion can be overcooked with not more than 15 seconds over timing.
