Step #08 - Fixing and Connecting the Laser Adapter

The adapter is an electronic box that translates signals from the control unit to the laser. It also serves as the main switch for the laser, and must therefore be easily accessible. Three positioning options are shown below, but feel free to do otherwise, depending on your preferences.

Instructions

  1. If you have a worktable with aluminium profiles, you can use the M4 screws and sliding nuts to attach it at the front.
    1. If your worktable has a top wooden surface, you can also attach the adapter using small wood screws.
      1. If you want to keep things compact, you can also use the M4 screws and sliding nuts to attach the adapter to the front profile of your machine (please note that you might have to move the emergency stop button and the interface unit to make room for it).
        1. Once the adapter is fixed, connect all the cables to it: the power supply, laser signal cable and control unit cable.
