03. Installing the Doors

Step #11 - Last Words & Security Advices

Congratulations, you just finished the assembly of your security enclosure!

How Does It Work?

As you have noticed by now, the security enclosure has four doors, two at the back and two at the front. The doors are kept closed with magnets and two magnetic sensors are used to check when they are opened.

There are two commands that are not available when the doors are open:

  1. Starting a G-code
    1. Turning on the spindle

If one of these two commands is running and someone opens any door, the machine will automatically trigger an emergency stop and the commands will be cancelled.

For practical reasons though, the following commands are still available when the doors are open:

      1. Homing
        1. Square Gantry
          1. Tool measure length (with the Z-axis probe)
            1. Jog (manual movement)
              1. Setting work/machine coordinates
                1. Go to XYZ0

                  Using a Vacuum Hose

Since there is no panel on the top of the enclosure, it is very easy to connect a vacuum hose to your dust shoe.

If you are using a larger vacuum hose with your machine, you should consider attaching it to the structure with one of these holders:
